In this short, illustrated document we talk you through how to create a new standalone P6 database.
There are two very good reasons why you might want or need to do this:
- If you have a database that you use for your business, that has a standard set of Calendars, Resources, Roles, User defined Fields and any amount of configuration, you will probably want to keep it that way; neat and tidy. When importing an XER file from a client or external source, P6 will import all of that project’s configuration and append it to your lists of Calendars, Resources etc
- When importing large schedules, sometimes from previous versions, it is quite possible to corrupt the database and render it impossible to use.
